blog vs site
i said that we will have 2 journeys... one about optimizing a romanian tourism site and one about a blog made to earn some revenues... here's a pole to have your opinion...
mess with blogger code
when you blog for money, and when you want to learn about that for free... so you are my target reader :D ... at some point you have to interfere in blogger's code... you need to make some adjustments...

is the end of microsoft approaching?!
google starts to attack microsoft's business. they started with small enterprises. with office applications.
google just launched google apps… which is no longer "google apps for your domain", but just "google apps"…
using that you will have small business solutions, at fair prices… and i don't think that they will stop at e-mail, chat, calendar, homepage, docs, spreadsheets and presentations… i believe that soon we will have accounting and payroll packages, inventory management and crm systems… they already have a solution for online payment; they just need to offer a shopping cart, and they already made something in that direction with google base…
i believe that by the end of the year, all you will need will be a business idea, $100 and to read the posts of this blog :) , and you will be able to start a new online business…

SEO may seem difficult...
but it's not!
we haven't started our journey yet... posts like the one about 301 permanent redirect and sitemaps may seem difficult right now, but as you may have noticed they are filed under collection category... this means that we will get back to them sometime... for now they are like a reminder...
sitemaps or no sitemaps?
that's the question...
rand makes a clear analysis here...
the conclusion could be like this:
- if you have a large site, multiple pages, dynamic content then use sitemaps and submit them and learn the robot what to index
- if you have only few static pages, then let the robot crawl by links and he will tell you which page you need to work on...
301 permanent redirect
this is not in your language... i don't understand 100% of what i'm writting here...
but this 301 permanent redirect will help you to drive all the traffic and the robots of your http://yoursite.com to your http://www.yoursite.com...

Key Phrases
users do search. they search on google, yahoo or msn... but they search... and if you want to be found by you users, you have to be in the top results...
what do they search for? hopefully for what you have to offer!
they search using words... one or more... and the search engines offer them some pages based on those words... which pages come first? those that the engines think that are "more about" that word...
seo means to do the best to convince the engines that your page is about what you want to be... to convince them to list you first...
in the beginning people used to search using one word... now the use more than one... in fact some studies show that most searches are done using 3 words...
that's why we will use key phrases instead of key words... even when i will say key word, you'll know that i mean key phrase. ok?

a new journey
SEO, SEM, PPC... new words in my vocabulary...
resources... a lot...
what to use? hard to say...
but i hope that the posts in this blog will be relevant for you, if you are a beginner in the search engine optimization and search engine marketing area...
i will try to write in the beginner's language!
i will try to be less theoretical and more practical!
i will try to select some tools that actually work!
i will recommend only free solutions... if you want to pay money, go to some seo agency! they know more than me! you probably will have better results!
i will take one website, a romanian one, and we i will work with it! it would be our experiment! we will work both romanian and english languages!
also i will launch a new blog! and we will do a experiment regarding blogging for money!
the site exists! so the domanin is already bought! the blog does not exist! the idea for the blog does not exist! we will find it toghether!
